Confiker Virus is a new virus that has affected millions of
computers around the world on April 1st, 09. If your PC is working
at a dead slow speed then it may be a sign that your PC has been
affected by the virus. Removal of Confiker Virus can
be somewhat

such as Microsoft, McAfee, Norton, etc.

their machines are protected, Comsats Internet Services suggests
following
steps:
1. Enable Firewall on your
CPE:

2. Disable all protocols except
TCP/IP
• Go to My Network Places
• Right click Network Connection and click on Properties
• Disable all

• Click Ok
and restart PC
3. Run the patches placed on
comsats.net.pk
For the convenience of Comsats Internet Services customers and to ensure that
their machines are protected, Comsats Internet Services has a special security
patch available for download. All you have to do to stay protected
from this malicious virus is to download the FOLLOWING Security
Patch:

Once you have downloaded the Security Patch, follow these simple
instructions:
1- First run the patch with Quick Scan. This will take merely a
few minutes. The patch will automatically detect and remove Confiker
Virus from your PC.
2- Restart your system once the scan has
been completed.
3- Now run the patch again with Full Scan. This
will take 4 to 5 hours of scanning and any leftover infected files
will also be removed.
4- Once Full Scanning is completed, make
sure to restart your system again and update your
antivirus.
Remember, you will have to run this Security Patch twice to
ensure complete removal of the Confiker Virus.
